PDO thread lifts are a minimally invasive alternative to a facelift. They are typically used on the face and neck to lift sagging areas as well as improving fine lines and wrinkles. They are suitable for all skin types and genders.
How Do They Work
The threads are made of polydioxanone (PDO), which are biodegradable and dissolvable. They are inserted into the skin and act to both suspend sagging skin and encourage collagen production.
Preparation and Aftercare
There is minimal preparation required. It is advised to avoid alcohol and blood thinning supplements prior to the procedure. A local anesthesia is typically not required and the procedure takes from 15 to 30 minutes. There is no particular aftercare required and normal activities can be resumed immediately.
Downtime
There is no downtime after the procedure and the final result is often seen in up to one to two months but immediate improvement is noticeable.
Frequency
How long the PDO threads last depends on a number of factors including the thickness of the threads, quality of the threads and body’s rate of metabolism. Most of the clients find that threads have dissolved between six to nine months. Results are typically achieved after one treatment and can be repeated as required.
